Open palms, fingers bent
moving sideways , knees bent
With belly's roaring,
I dance to the rhythm.
Ah! Hark to the loud noise
Here comes my hunter.
Oh! how I change my poise
It is now life or death.
Playing to the tune, I revel,
Crouching menacingly, at times,
To running for level.
With each move, sending the crowds on high.
Lo, Behold my sight,
I see my little one,
Step by step to this sight
I move to thee, my child.
Oh what a terror he beholds,
Runs bawling to my wife.
Crying loudly, amma!
The leopard is coming to kill me.
No sweetheart, he is your father
No amma, leopard is not my father
Your father becomes a leopard
To keep you and me alive.
